Last Thursday, Google announced that moving forward, ‘Google My Business’ (GMB) will be called ‘Google Business Profile.
The name change is accompanied by a rollout of new convenient features, including an upgraded Google Search and Maps experience and a multi-listing management dashboard. The remodeled experience now allows single-listing businesses to sign-up and manage their profiles directly from Google Search and Maps: claiming and verifying their business, updating basic information, and resolving alerts.

Follow the steps below to edit your local listing:
- Log into Gmail with the email used to register your Google Business Profile.
- Access your local listing by typing ‘my business’ in Google Search.
- Towards the bottom of your listing, click ‘Edit your business information.
A knowledge panel will appear where you can edit basic information about your business, such as your business category and description, contact information, hours of operation, and more.
